FOREST ROOM UKULELE - Four Chords Medley
Walk for Water - In support of Lake Winnipeg
Many popular songs are built from just four chords, which is one of the reasons they feel so familiar and easy to learn. In fact, there are at least three songs in this medley that use the same chord progression throughout: I’m Yours, With or Without You, and Love Story. Once this simple musical pattern is understood, it becomes an incredibly useful tool for musicians, especially in group settings like ours. It allows us to move quickly between songs, build confidence in playing, and focus more on rhythm, singing, and ensemble sound rather than complex chord changes. This is one of the key ideas we’ve been exploring in Forest Room Ukulele (FRU) - how a small musical structure can unlock a wide range of songs and make group music-making more accessible and fun.

This Lake Is Your Lake:
This lake is your lake, this lake is my lake,
From the shores of Gimli, to the Grand Beach Causeway,
From Reindeer Island, all the way to Traverse Bay,
This lake was made for you and me.
As I was walking along the shoreline,
I saw above me, that endless skyline,
And on my toesies, that VB world class sand!
This lake was made for you and me.
I roamed and rambled, as I was strolling,
The fish were jumping, and the waves were rolling,
Waved to an otter, out in the water,
This lake was made for you and me.
This lake is your lake, this lake is my lake,
Hillside and Belair to Wanasing (I wanna sing!)
Up to Sandy Bay - and down to Plage Albert,
This lake was made for you and me.
This lake is your lake, this lake is my lake,
From the shores of Gimli, to the Grand Beach causeway,
From Reindeer Island - All the way to Traverse Bay.
This lake was made for you and me.
CODA: This lake was made for you and me!
